Thesis Question: what is C.S. Lewis impact on the world?
Thesis: C.S. Lewis impact on the world is that he gave kids the opportunity to have hope that the world can be a better place using a creative expression of Christianity.

Clive Staples Lewis was born November 29, 1898, in Belfast Ireland. Lewis was enchanted by great animals and tales of elegance. He graduated from Oxford University with a focus on literature and classic philosophy. Lewis was a creative writer of fiction and nonfiction whom wrote many books in his life time (Lewis). C.S. Lewis impact on the world is that he gave kids the opportunity to have hope that the world can be a better place using a creative expression of Christianity.

He published his first book, the Dymer (1926). Lewis also continued his fascination with typical mythology and stories: His book Till We Have Faces: A Myth Retold (1956) featured the story of Psyche and Cupid. He also penned an autobiography, Surprised by Joy: The Shape of My Early Life (1955). Lewis's historical series, The Chronicles of Narnia, was released in 1979. Two more Narnia films  were also brought to theater: Prince Caspian (2008) and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010) (Lewis).

During the 50's, Lewis began to publish the seven books that would be known as The Chronicles of Narnia children's series, with The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (1950) being the first to be published. The story focused on four siblings who, during wartime, walk through an wardrobe to enter a magical world known as Narnia, a land stunning with mythical creatures and animals capable of talking. Different parts of the series represented a mixture of Biblical themes; one important character is Aslan, a lion who is the ruler of Narnia, who has also been interpreted as a Jesus Christ  figure. "I did not say to myself, 'Let us represent Jesus as he really is in our world by a lion in Narnia.' I said, 'Let us suppose that there were a land like Narnia and that the Son of God, as he became a man in our world, became a lion there, and then imagine what would happen.' " said Lewis (Lewis).

On November 22, 1963, the world sadly lost a great man who left us a rich legacy of literature which lives on. Not only was Lewis creative--the fact that he wrote in many different genres means he produced something for everyone. Lewis' work goes from poetry to science fiction, from academic treatises to defenses of the Christian faith, from anointed correspondence to sanctified fantasy. As we approach the millennium, his popularity continues to grow (Stroud).
